Sign Interpreted Theatre

Sign Interpreted Theatre (SIT) involves a British Sign Language interpreter positioned downstage left or right who will translate the whole play into sign language. The benefits of this are that is does not interrupt the action on the stage and needs very little lead time, meaning that you could book an interpreter at short notice. You will need to add an interpreter light into your rig but, other than that, there will be no need for adjustments to your lighting. It is worth noting that you will have to ensure any deaf patrons sit towards the front of the auditorium and on the side of the stage where the interpreter is placed.
